While Russell continues to forge his own style, he was initially grounded in Italian 'Disegno.’ His figure studies are appealing to collectors who appreciate the delicacy of fine drawings.  The timeless quality of these subtle works exhibit dimensional characteristics inspired by classic drawings of the past and thus are unlike the common photographic works of the mainstream.
